Wow you can tell the time he smoked really did a number on his voice. Which I wouldn't say it too bad, just easy to getting used to. Although it does has that campaign on why you show never smoke.

Actually Walt Disney stopped voicing Mickey Mouse around 1947 (because his voice had become too horse from years of smoking) during the recording for "Fun and Fancy Free" and handed over the reins to British-born sound fx guru Jimmy MacDonald who would go on to voice the character for 30 years

Mickey 's voice back in 1953, was done by Jimmy Mac Donald. Walt did Mickey 's voice in the original Mickey Mouse Club tv show though.

Smoking didnt help, but he was also in his 50's-60's at the time too.. Mel Blanc didn't smoke but his voice went as he got older as well
